Olympic champion Michael Phelps is coming out of retirement. He is entering four events at next week's United States national championships in Irvine, California.
He'll compete next Wednesday in four matches, then go to Australia a few weeks later for a shot at a berth the American team for next year's world championship.
Phelps retired after the 2012 London Olympics, having won a record 18 gold medals and 22 silver medals. The 29-year-old Phelps has entered a few minor meets recently but he's now back swimming in the big leagues.
He's been getting back in condition lately, but judging by these recent nude photos of him, he has a lot of body shaving to do before he enters the swimming pool. He'll probably have to pick out a new swim suit. Or he could set a new record just by competing nude for the first time. Then we'd learn for sure whether he is circumcised or not. Apparently this is a matter of some debate on the Internet. As I see it, the jury is out. Of course, the more important question is: Does it matter?
