The calendar says winter has another month to go. But I'm declaring the season finished. Done. Kaput. I say this as I watch snow flurries dance outside by window.
It's pointless complaining about winter, about how cold it is, and how snow and ice seem ceaseless. So I've decided to ignore everything about it.
Ignoring things is a time-honored practice for me. Procrastination, I mean. By putting things off until it's too late to do anything about them, I save myself a lot of time and energy. And it usually turns out that the things in question weren't that important after all.
So now that winter is officially over as far as I'm concerned, I don't have to waste any effort shoveling. The snow will melt eventually. It always does. So in my mind, today was the first day of spring. Now where are those daffodils ...
The present for your enjoyment a few images of this past winter.
