A "Friday news dump" is a common expression in the the world inhabited by politicians and journalists. Friday is the best time for politicians to release bad news in an attempt to avoid the scrutiny of the news media. Why? Few people pay attention to news on Friday evening or Saturday morning. If the news is picked up at all, it might make the Sunday morning talk shows. So sometimes the news goes unnoticed. I hope you don't miss this, though.
